Mental Health Fundamentals with Billy Claywell

Mental Health Fundamentals is an entry level course about common mental health diagnosis that providers encounter. The class information can be for in home and residential staff, foster and adoptive parents, providers and more. 

Objectives:

1. Participants will learn the impact of trauma and the substance abuse on mental health 

2. Participants will learn symptoms of five mental health diagnoses

3. Participants will learn five strategies to work with each of these diagnoses

Billy W. Claywell, LMSW has been in the human service field since 1988. He has worked as an in-home service provider, foster/adoptive care caseworker, supervisor of a family preservation project, administrator of a family and children's program and grant writer. He is currently the Clinical Director for Corinthian House and provides clinical oversight and therapy for their engagement, and mental health. He and his wife were foster parents for several years as well and his family is comprised of natural and adopted children.

Professionals who believe that this programming meets the requirements of their professional licensure board may present their certificate to their professional board. All those attending in full will receive a certificate of attendance and agenda for the day that includes the course title, trainer names, date, location, and number of hours. It is the responsibility of the individual attending to be familiar with the CEU requirements of their professional licensing board. Licensees should retain course materials and certificates for four years for auditing purposes.
