Join us for a free screening of Chasing Childhood, a feature-length documentary exploring how free play and independence have all but disappeared from kids’ lives. The film asks the question: What if, in trying to give kids everything, we’ve taken away the very experiences that help them grow?
Through stories of families, educators, and advocates, Chasing Childhood highlights the critical role of free, child-driven play in building essential life skills like grit, independence, and resourcefulness. The film invites us to reimagine what childhood could be if we step back just enough to let kids step up. Together, we’ll reflect on how communities can support healthy development, emotional resilience, and the reclaiming of true independence.
