About the event
Explore tools and techniques you can utilize when meeting with children and families to help you all become more calm, curious, and connected. Increasingly, research points to body-based interventions as essential for helping kids and adults alike to navigate anger and anxiety, behavior challenges, and stressful experiences. This workshop will first help you build a foundation of self-awareness of your own nervous system. Then we will learn and practice activities that you can do directly with children and activities to connect during your time together and equip them for improved regulation outside your time together. We’ll draw from the book Yoga for Children: 200+ Yoga Poses, Breathing Exercises, and Meditations for Healthier, Happier, More Resilient Children by Lisa Flyn and discuss how to adapt activities for different developmental needs.
